There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb

Angel Episode Review

In which there is a backlog in the mutilation chamber.

What Happened

Cordelia laments Lorne's demise, but he opens his eyes and explains that beheading doesn't render his people as deceased as one might think. He's only mostly dead until his body is mutilated. The priests, meanwhile, continue to insist that Cordi mate with the Groosalugg and fulfill their prophecies.

When the palace guards interrupt the execution and try to kill Wes and Gunn, the rebels realize that they are enemies of the priests and ask them to lead their rebellion. Despite his new ultra-demonic visage, Angel decides to come out of hiding and apologize to his friends. Wesley welcomes him back with an especial smile; he needs someone to battle the Groosalugg and distract the guards.

When she learns that the Groosalugg has spirited Lorne's body to safety, Cordelia feels even more attracted to him. He explains that after they mate, he will inherit her visions. As she is explaining that she doesn't want to give up her visions, a particularly nasty one hits. Cordelia begs the Groosalugg not to battle any "spine-y green monsters."

Angel challenges the Groosalugg and the priests insist he respond. Wesley's troops attack and he manages to get to the High Priest and destroy the device that would kill every human in Pylea. Cordelia stops the fight between Angel and the Groosalugg, then makes one last proclamation: all humans in Pylea are free.

Returning home, the gang plus Fred walks into the hotel, where a dejected Willow is waiting to tell Angel that Buffy has died...

What We Learned

  • Obviously, there's a back-log in the mutilation chamber.
  • Cordelia's sorry about the spittle.
  • Gunn's plan is that they die horribly and painfully. Wes goes to hell and Gunn spends eternity in the arms of baby Jesus.
  • There's work to be done on the bark enchiladas.
  • On this world, you get five cheers.
  • Gunn has no idea why people keep putting Wesley in charge of things.
  • She's Fred. She does that, too.
  • The Cow Princess is tired of hearing him yak.
  • There will probably be some riots.

What Did I Think?

The Hall of Drinks and Chants sounds like fun.
