Crackers Don't Matter

Farscape Episode Review

In which John needs them to understand.

What Happened

A shopping expedition turns up a scientist named Traltixx, who offers to build a cloaking device for Moya. He directs them towards his shipyard, warning that the light from pulsars in the area may temporarily affect their grip on reality. (More than usual?)

The crew grows increasingly paranoid and violent, even after they leave the pulsar field. John bounces back and forth between bugging D'Argo and Chiana, who have teamed up, and Aeryn and Rygel, who are barricading themselves in Command. He asks Pilot for help, but Pilot 2001s him. Hallucinating that Scorpius is talking to him, John hisses, "They're all stealing the crackers."

He attacks and ties up all his shipmates. Though they may not know how to play Wheel of Fortune, they eventually get enough letters to understand that Traltixx is up to something. Traltixx has talked Pilot into filling a space in Moya with blinding light and heat and is soaking in it. Finally working together, the crew outfits John in makeshift armor to protect him from the light, and he is able to slay Traltixx, saving them all.

What We Learned

  • Crichton once bought a set of knives from this guy on television.
  • It was advertised to cut through shoes.
  • Rygel eats and craps his body twice a day.
  • Crichton thinks that this is a little more than a little.
  • Zhaan's definitely working with Crichton. Definitely.
  • John would have to see Chiana in a Wonder Bra in order to know if she's Mary Ann or Ginger.
  • Rygel doesn't run away. He strategically maneuvers.
  • The only thing Rygel ever assaulted was a plate of food cubes.
  • John hates it when villains quote Shakespeare.
  • John is just a test monkey who screwed up his first experiment.
  • John needs D'Argo to understand that crackers don't matter.

Best Lines

Harvey: "Kill her and then we'll have pizza! And margarita shooters."

What Did I Think?

Wacky wacky, though I never did understand what Traltixx was hoping to accomplish.
