Crichton Kicks, pt 2
Farscape Episode Review
In which Crichton resurrects the Really Fake Beard and we meet Sikozu.
What Happened
John has been rescued by an old Leviathan and its equally ancient Pilot. These days, he and his really fake beard are hanging around, working on the wormhole problem, while they wait for the Leviathan to die. He and his really fake beard are interrupted by the arrival of Sikozu, a red-head who is on the run from her employers. She explains to John and his really fake beard that the Pirates harvest Leviathan flesh; she was hired to find Leviathans for them, but by leading them to the Sacred Burial Ground, she has rendered herself unnecessary.
Ilkog, the leader, is willing to give him safe passage off the Leviathan, but John and the really fake beard refuse to go. Chiana and Rygel arrive in a transport pod, looking for John. While he shaves off his really fake beard, they show him Grayza's reward offer on the crew of the Moya.
With some back-up from them, he puts another plan into action. After getting Sikozu on their side, there is much flying about and shouting, and John finally sets off an explosion in Pilot's den that defeats the Pirates and impresses the soundtrack. Pilot flies away from the Sacred Space, thanking John for saving her life by taking them to a planet where their friends may be.
What We Learned
- John's almost cracked Wormholes for Dummies.
- Sikozu's brain cannot handle translator microbes.
- John's capacity for self-delusion astounds even Harvey, and he lives inside John's brain.
- Show of force is the only thing Klingons understand.
- Nothing gets by Sikozu.
- When a woman leaves you repeatedly, take a hint.
- That was the plan, but you know how John's plans go.
- John has absolutely no appreciation of Rygel's worth in a crisis.
- No dream is guaranteed.
Best Lines
John: "Not exactly a team player, are you? Don't worry, I won't hurt you. I promised Chiana she can do that."
What Did I Think?
Well, Jool was horribly annoying when she first arrived, too. So we'll give Sikozu a day or two.
