I Shrink, Therefore I Am
Farscape Episode Review
In which everyone runs around and then things get shrunk.
What Happened
While John and Noranti are out on a grocery trip, pirates get onboard and take over Moya. John bashes the pod into the boarding craft attached to Moya's side and destroys it, then sneaks onboard. It's all very Die Hard, with John forced to improvise to save his friends. He teams up with Scorpius, briefly, and causes enough trouble that the head pirate decides they need to change tactics. The lead pirate, who Scorpius recognizes as a Scarran in disguise, shrinks all his prisoners down to inches high, then imprisons them in cans attached to the body armor of himself and his men.
John gets Aeryn and Chiana, but Scorpius is captured. The Scarran is about to take off with Scorpius, but John gets in the way. John knocks out the Scarran, grabs Scorpius' beer can, then tries to zap the Scarran small. The Scarran does the same and they trade sizes, until John squishes the Scarran. That taken care of, Pilot announces that he is considering traveling into 'tormented space,' to avoid the Peacekeepers and Scarrans. Aeryn agrees they should go, but she isn't very optimistic about their chances for survival.
What We Learned
- Chiana is so glad that they extended Sikozu's vocabulary.
- For a guy with no mouth, he sure talks big.
- No one asked Scorpius.
- Rygel has been around long enough to know how ignorant he is. He doesn't assume the universe conforms to his preconceptions. He knows a fact when it hits him in the face.
- Bear trap, ugly but creative.
- John's gonna need a new plan.
- It can be that bad.
