Farscape Episode Review

In which John has crap taste in women... and very bad timing.

What Happened

Moya finds the derelict wreck of the Peacekeeper vessel Zelbinion, once the most feared ship, like, ever. It was also the ship where Rygel was imprisoned and viciously tortured after being deposed.

He is not a happy puppet.

At any rate, the possibility of supplies leads D'Argo, Aeryn, and Crichton go exploring. They find Gilina, the survivor of a Peacekeeper mission left behind by Crais. Aeryn doesn't trust Gilina, thinking that Gilina's duty will be to betray them.

Crais is not the most immediate threat, however, as Sheyangs scavengers have also arrived to gut the Zelbinion. While Aeryn glares on, Gilina and Crichton work together to get the ship's shields working. They bond and sniff around each other a little, bothering Aeryn more than she cares to admit.

With the shields failing and the scavengers attacking, Aeryn tells Gilina to send a distress call to Crais. She won't mention them, Aeryn says, because if she does, Crais will deem Gilina contaminated and banish her as he did Aeryn.

Hearing that Crais is on his way back, the scavengers retreat, allowing Moya to escape as well, but Gilina is left behind on the Zelbinion, ending her budding romance with Crichton.

What We Learned

• Ask Leonardo DiCaprio, even the big ones go down.
• Human is kind of like Sebacean, but we haven't conquered other worlds yet, so we mostly kick the crap out of each other.
• Crichton tries to save a life day.
• Usually it's his own.
• Aeryn's whole unit was demoted after her defection. They can only be reinstated after her death.
• Maybe if they hadn't spent so much time flirting, the shield would have been up sooner.
• In the beginning, Aeryn found Crichton interesting.
• But only for a moment.
• It's always a good idea to clear the air.
• They had nothing, but they used it well.
• There is always enough time for a tearful goodbye.

Best Lines

John: "They spit fire? How come nobody tells me this stuff? How come nobody tells me they spit fire?"

What Did I Think?

Good last scene between Crichton and Aeryn.
