A Prefect Murder
Farscape Episode Review
In which there are bugs and everyone likes Chiana.
What Happened
One the first planet they find with any drinking water, the crew gets all caught up in local politics. The clans are coming together in peace for the first time and the presence of outsiders is making life difficult for the local soon-to-be Prefect Gaashah. Chiana is banished for fooling around with the locals, until it turns out it is Sikozu who is being groped by Gaashah's son. Gaashah is about to ascend to power, but there are always those who want to solve things with gun-fire.
Unfortunately for the crew, Aeryn is the shooter.
Gaashah is among the dead, leaving his son Zerbat in charge of their clan. Zerbat goes to hunt her down. The creepy old priest suspects Aeryn was being controlled. While he and John are talking, Aeryn remembers being bitten by a bug, as John just was. The prefect who was about to hand over power to Gaashah has hired someone to stir up war and chaos. A captured Chiana watches him make the bugs, which go after Aeryn and John while they are on their way up to Falaak's palace.
They shoot the bug-man, but can't finish him off because they are too busy pointing guns at each other. D'Argo and Sikozu show up and hold them down. The priest kills the bug-man, which removes his influence. Zerbat points his gun at Falaak; he can either die a hero's death or surrender to the law. Falaak would rather jump out a window, which confirms my low estimate of his intelligence.
