Promises

Farscape Episode Review

In which there is Scorpius! And Aeryn!

What Happened

Raise your hand if you're surprised that Scorpius isn't dead. In fact, he's waiting for them on Moya, along with a dying Aeryn. She is suffering from Sebacean heat delirium, but Scorpius has given her a cooling suit to slow the process. John reluctantly promises not to kill Scorpius.

Nowadays, Scorpius is hoping to protect John and keep him alive until he coughs up the wormhole tech. He thinks that when the Scarrans attack, John will make the right choice. Harvey tells John to whack him right away. With Sikozu's aid, Scorpius creates a device to finally remove the neural clone from John's head. Over Harvey's protests, John lets him use it.

The person who has the cure for Aeryn is Ullom, a little guy in a big ship. He accuses Aeryn of assassinating his planet's leader. If she gives him the names of her employers, he will save her life. John is all for that, but Aeryn refuses. John tricks Ullom into curing Aeryn, who announces that no one paid her to kill the leader; he was a tyrant who deserved to die. Ullom winds up dead, but Moya isn't safe yet. Braca has flown up with a missile designed to target Leviathans.

The crew uses Ullom's chameleon ship to trick the missile into thinking there are two Leviathans, then starburst away. Afterwards, Pilot asks the crew to pick a Captain so that he and Moya do not have to deal with competing orders, and John and Aeryn share a nice moment, until he brings up the pregnancy.

What We Learned

  • Fun travelling with kids, ain't it.
  • There's no smoking in John's head.
  • They may need a nerd.
  • John has had a lot worse plans.
  • Not by much.

Best Lines

John: "What is it with Peacekeepers. First, they hunt us, then they want to move in. Are we a bed and breakfast? Is there a sign outside that says 'Free HBO?'"

What Did I Think?

Slightly manipulative in bringing Scorpius on-board.
