Vitas Mortis
Farscape Episode Review
In which D'Argo has crap taste in women.
What Happened
D'Argo gets a lead on a Luxan living in a nearby temple. Realizing that she is a Luxon Holy Woman, he suddenly loses interest in bothering her, but Nireem takes a real interest in D'Argo and asks him to attend her in a Luxan death rite. Mid-chant, however, Nireem decides that D'Argo is powerful enough to try something besides dying and diverts some of that power into making herself young again.
That's about when Moya starts weakening, but it still takes everyone about half the episode to make the connection. D'Argo pleads with Nireem to give up her new power and restore Moya, but she doesn't want to lose her second chance for life - with him. In the end, she chooses to once more try the death ritual and asks D'Argo to attend her again.
What We Learned
- She could have been kicked out because she kept putting her hands in other people's business.
- Just because some old woman doesn't like the feel of your spleen, doesn't mean that she can call John's friend a fraud.
- Chiana likes D'Argo.
- Nireem intends to make up for D'Argo's pain.
- John is just gonna buzz off to Moya.
- Hull breaches are nearly unheard of on Leviathans.
- They're lucky Sparky's got a big ass.
- Aeryn's asking the wrong spaceman.
- Until today, Chiana never really realized how much she loves her feet.
- Leviathans live 300 years.
- Pilot's species are more lived (1000 years) but when they bond to a Leviathan, they die when the ship does.
Best Lines
Aeryn: "Useless. I wonder if I've got any grenades left."
Chiana: "She was joking, wasn't she?"
John: "With Aeryn, you never know."
What Did I Think?
Poor D'Argo just doesn't have any luck with women. At. All.
