Ballad
Glee Episode Review
In which Will has good teeth.
What Happened
Will has the kids pair up to develop a ballad. Everyone draws a name out a hat, but with one of kids out sick, Will partners with Rachel, who suddenly realizes how cute he is. When the novelty gifts appear, Will realizes that he has a problem.
Emma suggests Will sing it out, but that doesn't work. Terri decides to take advantage of the situation to get some chores done. She can't scrub floors in her condition; might as well put one of Will's trollops to good use. Finally Suzy Pepper, a Schuester crush survivor, tells Rachel that she needs to get up her self esteem and stop falling for unavailable guys, and Rachel realizes what a fool she has been.
Finn is reluctant to sing his heart out to Kurt, who encourages him to sing to his unborn daughter instead. When his mom catches him serenading a sonogram, Finn has to admit that Quinn is pregnant. Nursing a massive crush, Kurt helps Finn prepare a ballad to break out at dinner with Quinn's parents.
You're. Having. My. Baby.
After a seriously ugly confrontation, Quinn's parents kick her out of the house.
At the same time, Puck tells Mercedes that he is the baby's father. She tells him to suck it up and back off. He's already screwed up Quinn's life enough. Hearing that Quinn is now living with Finn and his mom, the Glee kids sing their ballads to Finn and Quinn, telling them that they can always count on their friends.
What Did I Love
- Puck's eye-roll at Rachel's gushing. A good eye-roll is a thing of beauty.
- Will's eyebrows during his duet with Rachel.
What Did I Like
- Is that Charlotte Ross playing Quinn's mom? I always liked her.
- It always starts with a novelty gift.
Best Lines
Kurt: "He's cheating off a girl who thinks the square root of four is rainbows."
What Did I Think?
Uh, Kurt's plan? Wow. He pretty much trashed Quinn's life there. Glad to see he's not a saint, and her parents were going to find out sometime, but did no one ever follow up on this? I mean, I like Kurt - I really do - but he kinda sorta accidentally on purpose gets Finn to drop a bombshell into Quinn's ultra-conservative, super-religious home life and all we get is "Oops" face?
In other news, "You're Having My Baby" is a joke song, right? "What's going through ya?" Makes pregnancy sound like a bowel movement after too much chili.
