The Strange Life of Bob

Las Vegas Episode Review

In which Nessa finally gets something to do.

What Happened

Nessa falls for a quirky guy who's been bouncing around doing odd jobs at the hotel. Bob admits to her that he's suffering from amnesia, having woke up in the desert with only a chip from the casino in his pocket.

She asks Ed to check Bob out, and Ed uncovers evidence that Bob may be a missing undercover ATF investigator. Agent Corey's wife doesn't recognize Bob, however, raising the possibility that he is not the victim, but the killer. Some technobabble allows Ed to find video of Bob killing Corey, then getting caught in an explosion and knocked out. He is arrested as Ed gives Nessa a comforting hug.

Elsewhere, Danny and Delinda track down a Peeping Tom taking pictures with a cell phone, and Mike helps Sam enter an eating contest.

What We Learned

  • A day with a Malouf is a day without sunshine.
  • Nessa has wilded up her hair.
  • Nessa gets a story and she gets to kiss Christian Kane. Lucky.
  • Even if he does need a hair-cut.
  • And may have killed someone.
  • We think Danny knows how to handle a shrimp shortage.
  • Anyone who hangs with Nessa better dance.
  • Well, I won't ever by ashamed of my dance skills from now on.
  • Mike is familiar with the female form.
  • Big Ed remembers when Nessa and Delinda started dating boys. He'd rather not, but he does.
  • Ballistic is an understatement where Big Ed is concerned.
  • Special Agent Corey Fox. Fox? That's subtle.
  • That was before Mike got the eye of the tiger.
  • Same old story: Girl meets boy. Boy has amnesia. Amnesiac has wife. Girl gets drunk.
  • Nessa needs to cut back on the blue eye-shadow.
  • And the bangs.
  • Delinda was definitely a bad cop.

Questions

  • No one ran this guy's fingerprints before summoning his worried wife? Showed her a picture, maybe?
  • And didn't they already search with dogs near the bombed car? Why didn't they find the body the first time if it was that close?

What Did I Think?

A bit of a reality check needed in the middle, but I'm impressed that they actually went through with making Bob the killer instead of taking the shiny happy way out.
