Donaterase, pt 2
Pretender Episode Review
In which Raines could feed candy to a diabetic and sleep like a baby.
What Happened
After a talk with the thoroughly Stepford!Jarod (the clone), Miss Parker is convinced that she needs to help him. Sydney has Raines' back, however, and has agreed to accompany Stepford!Jarod to Africa to be delivered to the Triumvirate. Contacted once more by Jarod, Sydney tells Jarod that he cannot help and not to bother trying hacking into the mainframe again.
Jarod hacks into the mainframe and finds out where and when they are moving the boy. They are successful in getting Stepford!Jarod away, but Major Charles is caught by Miss Parker. Mutumbo, a representative from the Triumvirate, orders Brigette to question Major Charles and puts Lyle in charge of the search for Jarod.
Miss Parker is not happy to be sidelined. Sydney advises her to confront Major Charles, if that is what she really wants. Major Charles tells Miss Parker that Raines shot him as he was going to help Catherine Parker save Jarod, Angelo and Miss Parker. She believes him when he claims the Triumvirate threatened to hurt Mr. Parker's family if he didn't play along.
Jarod decides to set up a trade for his father's freedom. He walks right in to the Centre and announces that Miss Parker can have her father back when Major Charles is released and dares them to do something about it. She agrees, but Motumbo overrules her again and puts Raines in charge. (Wait. I thought Lyle was in charge?)
Raines orders his shooter to bring Jarod and Stepford!Jarod alive. Mr. Parker, however, has outlived his usefulness. Brigette overhears and begs Miss Parker for help. They get to the airstrip, where Miss Parker hurls herself in front of her father as Raines' man fires.
Jarod tells his father to take Stepford!Jarod and fly away to safety while he keeps Miss Parker alive. When Brigette pulls a gun, Jarod makes his escape, but is brought down by Raines and captured.
What We Learned
- Carelessness leads to chaos.
- This is the Centre: ruin is not an option.
- Excuses are yesterday's failures.
- Raines could feed candy to a diabetic and sleep like a baby.
- Miss Parker can't help it if Sydney's a lousy aim. (This almost implies that she thinks Sydney shot Raines back at the end of season one.)
What Did I Think?
Much more satisfying than part one.
