Flyer
Pretender Episode Review
In which we're three for three on orphaned children. Are we detecting a trend here for Jarod?
What Happened
Jarod takes a job flying experimental jets in order to investigate the death of a pilot.
The Good
- You know, I really wouldn't be putting Jarod in charge of a fighter jet. Something about the "Yahooooo..."
- Miss Parker vs. Broots. Round one.
- Intro to Mr. Raines. The first person we've seen Miss Parker be afraid of. I was curious about the limo pulling up in front of Jarod's dive.
- Jarod's new job as an orchestra conductor. Subtle.
The Bad
- So, we're three for three on orphaned children. Are we detecting a trend here for Jarod?
The Cliche
- "Second best pilot I've ever seen." "Who's the first?" Wait for it. "You're looking at him." Of course we are.
- Planes = plane crashes = dead pilot. My guess is the big boss killed him to cover up the failure of his new toy. (Note: I was right.)
- Paranoid conspiracy freak care-taker. Boring.
- Freaky care-taker shows off his hallucinogenic gas. You know that's coming in handy sometime.
- "Ignorance is not an excuse for murder." Go ahead, feed Jarod's issues by making him take on the blame for everything the Centre did.
What Did I Think?
Not enormously exciting, but good enough, considering it's only the third episode.
