Pretender Episode Review
In which Raines does something sneaky and Jarod catches a bad guy.
What We Learned
Jarod's latest lady love drops her purse, not her shoe, helping him track Jenna to a gun shop run by her boyfriend. He manages to slime his way in as the new head of security for Pritchard, the rather shady little man. There seem to be numerous people after Pritchard, but the guy with the badge seems more interested in Jenna.
Jenna turns out to be an ATF agent, undercover for the past year. Now, some rather unscrupulous elements are using her daughter as leverage against her. In two days, they meet with the guy in charge and Agent Alonzo is forcing her to go along with all this until the case is complete.
Miss Parker snoops around Mr. Raines' activities, learning that her date for the High School Spring Formal has become the priest who is Raines' confessor. Giuseppe tells Miss Parker that Raines' was overheard talking about something called Veritas in the church parking lot. Broots learns that Veritas was a airborne-toxin project shelved in the eighties.
Jarod snoops around and learns that Prichard already knows that Jenna is ATF. He has plans for her: use her as a get-out-of-jail card after he's handed the Fat Cat over to the Feds. Jarod tells Jenna what Prichard has plans and they arrange his arrest.
Miss Parker suspects that Raines will use the Veritas gas against her baby brother, but he tells her that a diluted version helped baby's under-developed lungs, saving his life.
What We Learned
- You've gotten be in your skin. It's good for your karma.
- Nobody wants to be the night watchman.
- Shooting an ex-cop, not a very good idea, especially when he's put blanks in your gun.
What Did I Think?
Might as have well have offed the baby for all we ever heard why he was so crucial to Mr. Parker.
