The Black Box
Push Nevada Episode Review
In which people are quirky.
What Happened
Prufrock decides to stay in Push, despite everyone telling him to go. He is unsuccessful, however, convincing the local law enforcement to believe that he witnessed Botnick's murder.
The Good
- The shivery guy poring out his soul, then glaring, "That's all I'm saying."
- "No, he's more like Harris. Finicky." Job is still cute. I also like that Jim just straight out asks him what he wants to know.
- Suit swarm at Demon Hill Flats. Okay, that was impressive.
- The sheriff tells Jim to "git!" then adds, "Careful, Sonny. Could be slippery."
- So, that's the ex-wife, huh? I thought she might be just a voice on the phone the whole series.
- The tattoo guy tells Jim to "lose the jacket and take off the shirt," but doesn't mention anything about the tie, so Jim leaves it on.
The Bad
- There's that cactus again. It's like they took Jim out into the desert in his car and had him drive past it a hundred times at different times of the day... They're going to show it to us every episode, aren't they?
- God, Mary is long-winded. It's mostly the writing. I mean, she's obviously supposed to be a parody of something, but she's so dullllll.
The Cliche
- And the requisite dead body. (Shivery guy.)

Mysterious Man #1: "Personally, I'm at the point where I could fire you just for talking one more time."
What Did I Think?
I fear I'm starting to wonder if I want to invest my energy in all this.
